SALISBURY 4.19
SKY BLUE PINK – 0.5 e/w
(16/1 Generally)
SKY BLUE PINK needed her juvenile debut at Windsor in early September last year but scored at odds of 12-1 at Kempton a few weeks later and followed up on soft ground at Haydock in mid-October despite racing on the slowest part of the track and coming from off the pace in a race run to suit prominent types. She’s hardly set the world alight in three starts this term but it could pay to ignore those – her comeback run would have been needed, she then failed to stay 7f and became unbalanced at Ayr and then got sand kicked in her face under patient tactics when fourth of six at Chelmsford. I suspect she’s going to turn out to be an autumn filly and her yard won this race with another three-year-old filly a couple of years ago. This has been a good race for the classic generation of late, with three-year-olds taking five of the last seven renewals despite usually being heavily outnumbered by older horses.

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.15
HASHTAGMETOO – 1pt e/w
(7/1 Bet365, 13/2 Generally)
There are two horses that I wasn’t to oppose here – World Without Love, because his yard has a terrible record when using first-time blinkers, and Sundayinmay, whose best efforts have come on Polytrack. The each-way play has to be Jamie Osborne’s HASHTAGMETOO now that Paul Mulrennan takes the ride for the first time. The in-form pilot is a rare visitor to Wolverhampton and has won on no less than 17 of his 81 handicap rides here since the start of 2019 for a huge profit of £109.83. The five-year-old mare has yet to win here but has run with credit under 5-7lb claimers in her three previous visits, finishing fifth (beaten by a little over two lengths), third (beaten by less than two lengths) and fourth (beaten by two and a half lengths). Stronger handling could make the difference and it will be surprising and disappointing if she doesn’t go close at least.
