FLORENCE STREET – Salisbury 3.40 – (0.5pt each-way – 8/1 bet365, Paddy, Betfair)
FLORENCE STREET did too much too soon when a 20-1 fifth at Lingfield on her penultimate start, doing well to finish less than four lengths behind the winner. The first three finishers all came from well off the strong pace and the prominently-ridden fourth, 11-10 favourite English Spirit, has recorded form figures of 112 in his three subsequent runs and seen his handicap mark go up from 60 to 72.
Florence Street was well backed at Salisbury next time, but her saddle slipped, and Simon Walker couldn’t ride his race. Her career score now stands at 0-18 but she’s been found a very weak opportunity, looks well drawn and could be handy in a race lacking obvious pace angles.
MUMAYAZ – Lingfield 5.40 (1pt each-way – 20/1 bet365, BetVictor, Ladbrokes)
MUMAYAZ was a 7f Dundalk winner last October on his final start for Kevin Prendergast and, though 0-4 for Mark Lpoughnane this year, he has caught the eye on a few occasions. He fared best of the closers when a 33-1 fourth over trip and track on his stable debut in April and then did well to finish seventh of 13 against the draw bias at Leicester later the same month, doing second best of those drawn high.
He returned from a seven-week break and wind surgery with a respectable effort over an inadequate 6f at Windsor and then stumbled on leaving the stalls when well held over the same trip at Nottingham. He’s back up to 7f from a useful draw in stall 7 (provided Tyler Heard doesn’t switch him to the inside ‘swamp’) and is worth a small each-way bet.
