KING OF STARS – (1.15 Southwell, 1pt win – 10/1)
KING OF STARS improved for first-time cheekpieces when making all down the centre of the track in a 5f maiden here in October and found Class 3 company too hot when only fifth over the same course and distance next time. The stands’ side route was no help when unplaced from stall 7 of 9 last time, again over today’s course and distance, and he should be able to race on the favoured centre strip from stall 5 of 7 today. Red Stripes, who finished a place behind him when also poorly drawn (stall 9) last time, gave the form boost when second by a neck at 14-1 on New year’s Day. With the market leaders dawn on the extremes in stalls 1 and 7, he provides a spot of value at around the 10-1 mark.

BIG IMPACT – (1:15pm Southwell, 1pt win – 20/1)
