We enjoyed a ‘place’ return with 150-1 shot WAITING ALL NIGHT at Royal Ascot when Richard Spencer’s son of Rajasinghe ran fifth of 17 in the Coventry Stakes, a race his sire won.
Rajasinghe’s next run came when third in the July Stakes and Waiting All Night might be able to emulate his sire in today’s renewal. Royal Ascot was his first run over 6f, and he clearly improved for it.
Pablo Del Pueblo – 7.23 Epsom (1pt win – 7/1 Paddy, Betfair, 6/1 generally)
PABLO DEL PUEBLO was unsuited by the cut back to 5f when only fifth at Windsor last time and is best judged on his 6f handicap figures of 1543197631 (3-10).
Only two of those runs came on turf – a 16-1 third of 19 at Ascot and a near-four-length romp at Lingfield. Going round a bend on turf for the first time could bring about further improvement and he’s worth chancing on his debut for Jim Boyle.
Akmaam – 1pt win – 7.30 Leopardstown (1pt win – 10/1 William Hill, 9/1 SportingIndex, Livescore)
Ger Lyons has a great record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 18 of the 56 qualifiers since 2014 (32.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £33.91 to a £1 level stake at SP.
In good handicaps (grade B and C) his record in the same period is eight from 18 (44.4%) for a profit of £32.00. AKMAAM, ex-Brian Meehan, ran respectably behind Bay Bridge at York last October on his latest outing and can make a winning start for new connections.
