Low draws were favoured in sprints on the inner track at Haydock last week and I’m expecting them to have the best of things in this 12-runner 5f handicap.
There’s pace low from Sampers Seven (stall 4) and Never Dark (stall 3), which could help to set things up nicely for Les Eyre’s HEY MR (stall 2). The four-year-old’s best efforts for Roger Varian came on flat tracks, on turf, on which he recorded form figures of 3213433 (1-7). He beat only one home at Southwell in late February on his stable debut but would have needed that after a break of several months/wind surgery and probably failed to handle the Tapeta surface.
He should be able to get cover from the forecast headwind and is worth chancing to small each-way stakes, despite the yard going through a quiet spell.
