In the past 12 months her record immediately following a defeat reads 121211 (4-6), with the first defeat by a short head.

Three-year-olds have won all five previous renewals of this 1m2f contest (from 26 runners) whereas older horses are 0-21 with just two placing. That helps to knock out two runners at single-figure odds (11-2 and 9-1 with William Hill at the time of writing).
I’m siding with ALYARA who has been progressing nicely since disappointing on her handicap debut in July. She lost a shoe when fourth at Nottingham and kept on gamely in a fast time when opening her account at Carlisle last time.

GRACES QUEST – (5.50 Ayr, 1pt win – 9/2)
My tracker entry for GRACES QUEST reads ‘back on handicap debut’ and I did. Sadly, she lost – finishing a 12-length sixth of eight at Ripon. I ignored her claims when she turned up in a Musselburgh seller just 11 days later and, needless to say, she won at 11-1. I was quite impressed by that effort, not only did she clock a fast time but she came from off the pace to score, rarely easy at Musselburgh.
Runner-up Major Snugfit ran a close second at Redcar on Tuesday and I’m hopeful that she can follow up here.
