In handicaps only, the strike-rate improves to 36.6% (56 from 153) for a profit of £115.49, improving again to 43.9% on the all-weather (18 from 41, +£49.81). NEW HOPE BULLET was awarded the race when passing the post in second place at Sandown on her latest outing, to take her record since her racecourse debut to 21311 (3-5). She’s 1-1 on Polytrack and this track should suit.

When racing in fields of seven or fewer runners KING OF STARS has form figures of 11431156 (5-9) for a profit of £22.88. On turf only, his figures improve to 111 (3-3). He faces just five rivals today and is likely to prove hard to pass. The Mick Appleby won this last year with Danzeno and the yard’s full record in 5f conditions races since the start of 2020 reads 5111531 (4-7).
