There’s not a huge amount of pace on here, despite the big field, and last year’s winner JOHN CLARE might be able to dominate. He disputed the lead before going clear five out in this race 12 months ago and looks to have been laid out of this again.
His only other win came at this venue in October and the recent rain is very much in his favour.

KINGDOM GIRL took a backwards step at Glorious Goodwood, beating only one home in the Wilderness Girl maiden, but bounced back to something close to her debut form here. Poorly drawn in stall 9 of 11, she broke smartly to sit on the heels of the leaders but was outpaced at a crucial stage before staying on late into third. She’s now qualified for handicaps and will of particular interest if upped in trip to 1m.’
Fast forward six weeks and here she is, making her nursery debut over a 1m trip. She’s well drawn in stall 4 and doesn’t need to find a huge amount of improvement to get involved for last year’s winning yard.
