Main rivals Expect To Succeed and Host have had plenty of chances to get off the mark, albeit the first-named is open to improvement after being gelded since his latest outing.

Mark Loughnane has a five from 31 record (16.1% strike-rate) with his first-time blinkered runners in all-weather handicaps and JACKSTAR looks very interesting now dropped back to 6f in new headgear. He was a respectable 18-1 fourth over an extra furlong at Wolverhampton last time and ran well on his only previous visit to Lingfield, doing too much too soon on the front end in a 7f handicap before weakening into fourth place. He’s 6lb lower today and Luke Morris will surely gun him into the lead from the outset from stall 1.
