QAARAAT seems best on the all-weather after a very recent outing, recording form figures for his current yard of 61821261 (3-8) when returned to the track four days or sooner since his latest run. He finished a close second under a prominent ride at Southwell on Sunday, a fine effort given that he is now 0-7 on Fibresand. His three all-weather wins have come on Tapeta and, though he’s not the most prolific, he’s likely to be prominent in a race lacking out-and-out front-runners and makes each-way appeal.

FINAL ATTACK – (3.25 Wolverhampton, 1pt each-way – 8/1)
A steadily-run 7f was against FINAL ATTACK here last time and the 11-4 favourite could never get involved, coming home six lengths behind the winner in tenth place. Fifth-placed Blue Whisper, also ridden patiently in that race, finished second at 20-1 on his next start before winning at 8-1 (both over 8.6f at Wolverhampton). Sixth-placed Giant Steps, another given a hold-up ride, was an 18-1 third over 1m at Newcastle and the seventh – Luscifer – has won three of his next four starts. Final Attack will be happier over this 9.4f trip – he scored over course and distance on his penultimate start – and, with his yard among the winners, it’s worth taking a chance on his fitness after a 115-day break.

JEANETTE MAY – (3.40 Kempton, 1.5pt win – 7/2)
JEANETTE MAY’s Lingfield third in September worked out well, with the winner landing two of her next three starts – going up by 10lb in the process – and the runner-up scoring shortly afterwards. She failed to settle from her wide draw when upped to 1m2f at Lingfield next time and wasn’t given the most inspired ride by Richard Kingscote when seventh of 12 in a 1m handicap back at Lingfield last time, meeting trouble and finishing full of running. Stall 1 isn’t the easiest draw in big-field 1m contests at Kempton but Hollie Doyle takes over in the saddle and Jeanette May is the quickest in this weak line-up by some way.

Progeny of No Nay Never have a poor record on Tapeta but they do extremely well on Kempton’s Polytrack when given a good draw. IMPEACH was a respectable third over trip and track last time and might be capable of better on his handicap debut.

Horses switching to Jane Chapple-Hyam from another trainer have a good record at the second time of asking for their new handler, winning six of their 29 starts in handicap company since 2016 for a profit of £55.08 to a £1 stake at SP.
