Andrew Mount's Best Bets - Wednesday, July 7

Top tipster Andrew Mount has already found winners at 16-1 (10-1 advised), 13-2 (12-1 advised) and 3-1 (9-2 advised) this week. He has just the one bet on Wednesday.

MOUNT RAINIER – (5.45 Kempton, 1pt each-way – 18/1)

The stands’ side ‘golden highway’ was fully operational at Lingfield’s turf meeting on June 28, favouring high-drawn prominent racers on the straight course. MOUNT RAINIER, ridden patiently from the worst of the draw in stall 1 in the 5f novice contest won by Cotai Glory (who made all from stall 10 of 12), made ground widest of all and did remarkably well to finish just over six lengths behind the winner.

She’d also shown ability on her debut when a 14-1 sixth at Bath in a race a stablemate went off as the 11-10 favourite. We might not see the best of her until she’s qualified for nurseries but she’s too big a price to ignore. The front five in the current betting are all draw worse than her (stalls 7-12) and three of them are unraced. Richard Hannon won this in 2016 (with a twice-raced 14-1 shot) and in 2014 and Hannon senior win it in 2013.
