MORPH SPEED was a big eyecatcher over 1m2f on his penultimate start, staying on strongly into third place against the draw/pace bias and he duly went places better when we were on him in a 1m5f handicap at Leopardstown last time.
The step up in trip clearly helped that day and there could be plenty more to come today on what is only his fifth turf start and fourth outing for his current yard.

DON’T STOP NOW – (4.30 Fontwell, 1pt win – 3/1)
Fergal O’Brien has a modest record with his runners returning from wind surgery – just two winners from 49 prior to DON’T STOP NOW’s debut at Ludlow – but that didn’t prevent him from starting as the 5-2 favourite.
The four-year-old was beaten by just over four lengths into third but fared best of those to come from off the pace and provides a spot of value against the odds-on favourite Authorised Speed.

NIGHT NARCISSUS – (6.30 Kempton, 1pt win – 6/1)
NIGHT NARCISSUS ran an astonishing race over course and distance three runs ago, finishing a neck second despite getting into a fierce three-way battle for the early lead in an apprentice handicap. The other two pacesetters dropped right away to be beaten by 10 and 17.5 lengths and improved their RPRs (Racing Post Ratings) by 30lb and 51lb on their next start.
She found the cut back to 5f on fast ground against her when disappointing at Nottingham next time but bounced back with a solid 6f second on easy ground to the progressive Mo Celita at Haydock. Returning to Kempton will help – her other course outing saw her finish second to the now 90-rated Popmaster and she’s well berthed in stall 2.
