Andrew Balding’s TYPEWRITER was very green when finishing a promising fourth in a 6f fillies’ novice contest at Windsor on her debut last month and ran another eyecatcher when filling the same position at Glorious Goodwood just ten days later, doing best of those ridden patiently in a field of 18 runners.
Her yard’s juveniles have a great record third time out on turf, winning 37 of their 129 races since the start of 2016 (28.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £75.53 to a £1 level stake at SP. The step up from 7f to an extended mile looks sure to suit.

TARBOOSH has a ten from 21 record when racing over 5f on turf in a small field (nine or fewer runners), for a profit of £40.95 to a £1 level stake at SP. He tends to come good at about this time and if we only consider his 5f small-field turf runs in August/September his record becomes 1111151551 (7-10).
He disappointed in this race two years ago but was reportedly suffering from a ‘prolonged recovery’ on his first start after wind surgery and he won this race in 2018.

ENCHANTED NIGHT qualified as a system bet for me in a 7f Leicester last time and I took the chance at 50-1 (Betfair SP of 65.0) despite the fact that she was making her debut for the Christine Dunnett yard after a break (ex-James Tate) and not best drawn in stall 6 of 7. She raced keenly in the early stages but came there to press the leader two furlongs out, trading just shy of 11-2 in running before fading into sixth place.
That run would have been needed and she looks very interesting now cutting back to 6f for her handicap debut. The first-time hood could help fix any keen-going tendency and the big field might also help in that respect.
