Andrew Mount's Best Bets - Wednesday, March 23

Top tipster Andrew Mount struck with 5-1 FOREVER DES LONG on Tuesday and has three bets across two races on Wednesday. Check out his thoughts below, alongside an exclusive Paddy Power offer, that provides money back as cash up to £20 if your first horse racing bet loses

CHEF D’OEUVRE – (HAYDOCK 2.45, 1pt win – 6/1)

The Tim Molony Handicap Chase has been moved around the calendar over the years but, whenever they run it, it always seems to be a graveyard for last-time-out winners with only one from 30 successful this century (expected number of winners = 4.88). Hat-trick seeker Tim Pat heads the betting at around the 11-8 mark but steps up in trip to an extended 3m4f, having won over 2m4f last time out.

CHEF D’OEUVRE is 7lb lower than when landing this race last year and Sam England’s 11-year-old has a course record over 3m3f or further of 131PP (2-5), with the first non-completion excusable as it came on his reappearance. He also seems best after a very recent outing, recording form figures of 11U211354 (4-9) when returned to the track withing three weeks of his previous run.

HARBANAKER – (8:30pm Dundalk, 1pt win – 7/1)

HARBANAKER did well to finish a 16-1 third of 13 after challenging on the ‘dead’ rail over an inadequate 7f here last time and looks worth a bet. Gavin Cromwell’s five-year-old was a winner over course and distance on his penultimate start and the return to the longer trip will suit.

WELL SUITED – (8.30 Dundalk, 1pt win – 12/1)

WELL SUITED also challenged closest to the inside rail in a 7f handicap here last time and his four-length seventh was worthy of an upgrade. The step back up to 1m could suit and he too has decent prospects.
