STEPNEY CAUSEWAY lost his unbeaten record on left-handed tracks when only third of four at Cheltenham on last month’s comeback but, with the benefit of hindsight, the stiff track didn’t suit and he went off hard enough towards the inside rail, rarely the place to be on the hurdles course at that venue.
His record on easy tracks, Flat and jumps combined, reads 11111 (5-5) and if he can avoid getting in a mad duel for the early lead with For Pleasure he should go well on his chase debut.

NADA TO PRADA won at this meeting last season on her first start after a wind operation and followed up in a mares’ Listed hurdle at Haydock. She was left with far too much to do when third in Grade 2 company at the same venue on her only other start last term and was a good second on her reappearance/chase debut at Worcester last month.
She’s had another wind operation since and trainer Michael Scudamore has a solid record with his horses having their first go in a handicap chase, scoring with 10 of the 24 qualifiers since the start of 2011 for a profit of £37.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who finished second, third or fourth in their prep race had an eight from 18 record (+£40.75).
