3.18 Leicester – PERFECT LOCATION (1pt win – 5/1 Paddy Power, 9/2 generally)
LEXINGTON BELLE’s four wins have come in August/September but the key to the Alice Haynes-trained four-year-old is probably handicap company and a relatively recent run (within the past six weeks). Her record under such conditions reads 11213213 (4-8) for a profit of £11.45 to a £1 level stake at SP. The placed efforts came at odds of 20-1, 10-1, 17-2 and 8-1, suggesting each-way claims. I’ve downgraded my bet from 1pt e/w to 0.5pt e/w thanks to the presence of fellow front-runner Physique.
4.35 Salisbury – PERFECT LOCATION (1pt win – 9/1 bet365)
PERFECT LOCATION was withdrawn on account of heavy going when I tipped her at Salisbury ten days ago but should be allowed to take her chance at Leicester this afternoon. Tom Ward’s filly finished a 20-1 11th if 20 in a valuable sales race at Newmarket, just a place behind Guernsey Lady (WON 11-8 from 6-1 next time when also tipped in this column), three places behind Arduis Invicta (WON 13-8 from 9-1 on next start when also advised here) and five places behind Anaisa, best of the low draws, who was backed from 40-1 into 12-1 when scoring in Listed company at Ripon on her next start. The daughter of Cable Bay, a winner at Southwell on her second start, could be well in off 69 on her nursery debut.
5.45 Salisbury – MONSIEUR KODI (1pt win – 11/2 bet365)
Richard Fahey hasn’t had a runner at Salisbury since 2019, and it looks significant that he sends MONSIEUR KODI this far south for a seven-runner Class 4 handicap. The six-year-old has form figures in this grade or lower on turf of 6152111134431 (6-13) for a profit of £28.50 to a £1 level stake at SP, including form figures of 1113 (3-4) for today’s Oisin Orr, with the defeat at 10-1 in a field of 14 at Hamilton back in June. His last two wins came when racing prominently in small fields, the soft ground will suit and there isn’t a great deal of pace in this race.

Ryan Moore has been ruled out for the remainder of the Flat turf season with a broken leg, and I want to use this week’s article to discuss how his absence might affect Aidan O’Brien’s operation in the next few months, especially with the runners at British racecourses.
