2.00 Lingfield – CAPRICORN PRINCE (1pt win – 6/1 with bet365)
Gary Moore’s CAPRICORN PRINCE could only finish seventh of nine at Kempton on his most recent outing, but he was 50-1 on his return from a 165-day break and ridden by 7lb claimer Anna Gibson. It looks significant that the eight-year-old returns to Lingfield where he’s five from 11 on the Polytrack (+£13.88 to a £1 level stake at SP) with Hector Crouch taking over in the saddle. Crouch has form figures of 514413 (2-6) when riding the veteran on the all-weather, improving to 141 (2-3) away from Chelmsford where he’s yet to win from six visits. Today’s race won’t take a great deal of winning and Capricon Prince is only 1lb above his last winning mark.
5.15 Lingfield – GOGO YUBARI (1pt win – 7/1 with bet365)
GOGO YUBARI has improved for the switch to Dylan Cunha’s yard this winter and has proved particularly effective here at Lingfield, recording form figures of 121 (2-3), with the defeat by one length when the winner got first run in a five-runner contest. She doesn’t seem as good at Chelmsford, so there was plenty of encouragement to be taken from her 28-1 third of 12 in a 6f handicap there last time and this sometimes-keen sort won’t be inconvenienced by the return to the minimum rip in a race that should be run at a fast pace.
