2.00 Ayr – WOODRAFF (1pt win – 6/4 bet365)
I went for a last time out Ruth Carr winner at Leicester yesterday in the shape of Hostelry (results unknown at the time of writing) and I’m opting for the same angle with WOODRAFF, who recorded a good speed figure (according to Proform’s ratings) when successful on soft ground at Beverley last time. The four-year-old ran well over today’s course and distance on good to soft ground the time before, finishing fourth of 11 at 66-1, and it’s worth taking a chance on his ability to handle these faster conditions. He’s also a 50-rated horse running in a 0-50 classified stakes, which is a positive statistical angle.
7.10 Windsor – CHIEF MANKATO (1pt e/w – 10/1 William Hill, four places)
The Jack Channon-trained CHIEF MANKATO has only finished outside of the first three at Windsor on one occasion, when given a prominent ride by Oisin Murphy – on board for the first time – in a Racing League contest. The four-year-old has been ridden patiently in his other course runs, record form figures of 123, with his last time out third excusable as they didn’t go fast enough for him in a six-runner contest. His course win came in a field of 12 runners – the same conditions he faces tonight. BADRI, who beat the selection into third place over course and distance last time, again looks the main danger.

Andrew’s Angles – Soft Ground Sires for When Summer Weather Turns
The British weather has taken a turn for the worse in the past few days (as it usually does when hosepipe bans are introduced) and we saw thunderstorms turn the ground soft at Windsor on Monday night and Beverley raced on officially heavy going. Windsor’s muddy track produced some bookmaker friendly results (33-1 and 14-1…
