3.17 Catterick – ZAPHEA (1.5pt win – 9/2 William Hill)
In-form Iain Jardine does exceptionally well with last time out winners who were returned to the track 20 days ago or sooner after their victory, scoring with 82 of the 296 qualifiers (27.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £36.95 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 62.85, A/E = 1.30). If we knock out the qualifiers who ran on the all-weather the score is 66 from 217 (30.4%) for a profit of £59.47. So far this year, Jardine is three from three on this system, with winners at 5-2, 6-4 and 5-4, and perhaps ZAPHEA – successful at Musselburgh ten days ago on his second run for the yard – can get the four-timer up. The three-year-old had pulled too hard when third of seven at Ayr on last month’s stable debut and was second by a head over course and distance last September on her latest visit to today’s venue.
