BAMA LAMA has only ever won in June, July or August and her record in Class 6 handicaps in the high summer period stands at 117223312611 (5-12) for a profit of £15.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. Rod Millman’s veteran returned to winning ways with a course and distance win nine days ago and rarely runs a bad race at today’s venue. Her latest victory came on good to firm going but the slower conditions won’t inconvenience, and she can follow up.
5.00 Carlisle – QUESTIONABLE (2pt win, 15/8 bet365)
On soft ground the near side rail should come into play at Carlisle this afternoon and I like the stall 11 draw for Daniel & Claire Dubler’s QUESTIONABLE in this 7f handicap. The three-year-old was only just denied when 12-1 for soft-ground 1m event on her handicap debut at Haydock last month and Tom Marquand takes over from Jim Crowley. Her yard has hit form in recent days, sending out two winners (33-1 and 7-1) and two seconds (13-2 and 9-2) from their last four runners, and they do well with horses travelling more than 250 miles from their Lambourn base, scoring with 18 of the 81 qualifiers for a profit of £67.92 to a £1 level stake at SP (including a four from ten haul at Carlisle).
