5.45 Windsor – MAKE IT EASY (1pt win – 11/2 generally)
North Yorkshire-based Nigel Tinkler is a rare visitor to Windsor and it’s interesting to see his MAKE IT EASY make the long trip south for this 5f Class 5 handicap. The three-year-old has yet to score in four runs for the yard since leaving Jack Channon’s care but has run some good races, including a 28-1 fourth of 17 at York in May when doing best of those to come from off the pace, albeit from a favourable low draw. Pilgrim, winner of the Palace Of Holyrood House Handicap at Royal Ascot was just one place in front of her that day and she ran another good race behind the same rival when an unlucky-in-running 8-1 fourth at Musselburgh on June 1st. The daughter of Mehmas was a little underwhelming at Redcar last time but raced well away from the favoured rail and it will probably pay to forgive her fifth-place finish. She was a little unlucky not to win the restricted maiden at this meeting last year on her sole course outing for Channon and will appreciate the small field. Her trainer is five from 24 in handicaps here since the beginning of 2016 and five from 16 with runners with runners who started at odds of 8-1 or shorter (+£13.25 to a £1 level stake at SP).
