2.35 Ffos Las – BRULERE NOIRE (1pt win – 9/2 William Hill, 4/1 generally)
The Richard Bandey-trained BRULERE NOIRE made a winning reappearance in a 2m handicap chase at Ffos Last in November 2022 and returned 12 months later to land the same race, again on his seasonal return. He signed off last term with a 2m3.5f handicap chase win at Chepstow in mid-April when freshened up after a 51-day break. First-time out could be when to catch him and his small yard’s runners have been performing well, including a close-up 80-1 second at Lingfield a few days ago. The seven-year-old is worth a bet to make it three wins from four Ffos Las starts.

3.45 Ffos Las – HAUT FOLIN (1pt win – 9/4 generally)
HAUT FOLIN’s form tailed off last spring but that’s often the case with Venetia Williams-trained mud-lovers and there’s every chance that the seven-year-old will bounce back to score on his seasonal debut. He’s only scored once since leaving France but that was over course and distance on heavy ground on his comeback last term and he has underfoot conditions to suit once more. Regular readers will be familiar with my ‘Venetia Williams handicap chasers in November’ system and they remain profitable into December, with 148 winners from 714 bets this century (20.7%) for a profit of £89.55 to a £1 level stake at SP.
