Andrew Mount has a flurry of tips for Saturday’s racing from Ascot and Newmarket, so check out his best bets across a bumper day’s ITV racing here…

1.15 Ascot – MISS NIGHTFALL (1pt e/w – 13/2 generally with the firms paying four places) & BELLAPHINA (0.5pt e/w – 40/1 generally)
The key to this 7f Listed contest could be the Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes, run at Doncaster last month. It was difficult to come from off the pace on Town Moor that day and fifth-placed MISS NIGHTFALL emerged best of the late closers, going down by just two and a half lengths. Her patient style will be an asset given the forecast strong headwind and she won’t mind if the ground eases further.
BELLAPHINA is a big price after her modest fourth of six to Remmooz in a similar race at Newbury last month but the three that beat her were colts/geldings and she’ll be happier back against her own sex. Her record in fillies-only races over 7f-1m reads 34110131 (4-8) for a profit of £37.00 to a £1 level stake at SP.
1.50 Ascot – ELEGANT ERIN (1pt e/w – 50/1 generally)
Paul Midgley’s ELEGANT ERIN, the 100-1 outsider, out-ran her odds to finish sixth under a patient ride in the Beverley Bullet three runs back, doing second best of the closers and finishing just half a length behind subsequent Group 3 winner First Instinct, who emerged best of those to come from off the pace. She’s two from two since – landing gambles for this column on each occasion (9-4 from 9-1 and 9-2 from 33-1) – and though yet to race here, her love of stiff tracks suggests that she can again out-run her odds, especially with the forecast strong headwind to assist her patient running style.
2.05 Newmarket – ACCIDENTAL BID (2pt win – 12/1 bet365, Ladbrokes, Coral, 11/1 generally)
I hope some of you took the general 25-1+ about ACCIDENTAL BID when I napped him on GG’s Weekend Watch YouTube Channel/Podcast on Thursday afternoon and, while the price has crashed into 12-1, he still has the potential to go off much shorter. Adrian Nicholls’ two-year-old was a huge eyecatcher when 150-1 for his debut in a 1m Thirsk novice just over five weeks ago, going down by three-quarters of a length to Be The Standard in a fast time despite missing beat at the start, failing to settle out wide with no cover and running green. That race is working out well, with the fourth, fifth and sixth all winning since and the 200-1 tenth of 11 going down by just three-quarters of a length in second place when 150-1 at Pontefract next time out. Accidental Bid pulled four and a half lengths clear of the third placed horse at Thirsk and I can see him running a huge race here.
3.50 Newmarket – MISS WONG (1pt win – 15/2 bet365, 13/2 generally)
MISS WONG scored in a very fast time for the grade when landing a Class 4 contest at Yarmouth on her latest assignment, pulling over three lengths clear of runner-up Ghost Story to take her record in fillies’ handicaps to 411 (2-3). The sole defeat – a 17-2 fourth at Ffos Las in June – was safely excused as the race was started by flag and she was out the back when they jumped off. Friday’s rain will have aided her course, and her patient style will allow her to get cover from the strong wind.
