3.37 Goodwood – RIGHTHERE RIGHTNOW (2pt win, 7-2 bet35)
RIGHTHERE RIGHTNOW was a non-runner on account of soft ground when I tipped him at Ascot on October 3rd and should find conditions more to his liking at Goodwood this afternoon. Richard Spencer’s three-year-old is winless in six starts since romping home by five lengths in a July Course maiden last summer but caught the eye in the Ayr Silver Cup last month, doing second best of the nearside group when a fine 28-1 fifth of 25 to stablemate Candy. That race has worked out phenomenally well and was franked again as recently as yesterday when sixth home BINHAREER comfortably landed a big handicap at York (tipped in this column). Surprisingly, he was dropped 1lb to a mark of 85 for his latest effort and today’s race is far less competitive.
5.30 Naas – PRESENCE (0.5pt e/w – 11/1 bet365, 10/1 generally)
PRESENCE could never strike-a-blow from the rear when sixth at pace-favouring Listowel last month, doing well to finish just over five lengths behind the winner. The heavy ground was also against Jessica Harrington’s four-year-old that day and she’ll be happier now taking on her own sex again. She won at the Curragh in early October last year before a fourth in Listed company at today’s meeting and she looks an each-way play off a mark of just 79.
