MILAN BRIDGE, ex-Paul Nicholls, was a big eyecatcher when a weak-in-the-betting 25-1 fourth at Huntingdon back in October. He hated the right-handed track at Leicester next time, jumping to his left throughout on his way to a 9-1 last of seven, but everything clicked over today’s course and distance on his third run for current connections. Sent off at 10-1, the eight-year-old jumped better than in his two previous starts and scored by just under three lengths in a fast time. The 5lb rise still sees him running off a mark 4lb lower than when making his stable debut and with the ground (officially good, good to soft in places) very much in his favour he has a great chance of following up.
