RATHBONE showed little in his first four starts this term but took a step forward at Newbury last time, finishing three lengths behind the winner in a 22-1 ninth of 12 when challenging on the slowest part of the track from his poor low draw. His two previous runs over course and distance produced a novice win and a 12-1 second of 13 in this race last year. Today’s race should be run to suit this strong traveller and he’s 4lb lower than last year.
