MARTY MCFLY was sent off as the 7-2 favourite on last month’s debut for in-form Sandy Thomson in a 2m3.5f novices’ handicap hurdle at Bangor where he ran a sound race to finish less than five lengths behind the winner in fourth place. The six-year-old pressed the strong early gallop in a race that was run to suit the closers and probably did too much too soon. The cut back to 2m will suit and his trainer does well at the second time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 14 of the 58 qualifiers since 2017 (24.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £99.13 to a £1 level stake at SP.
