Wed 12 Nov 202511.10 Lingfield – PARTY ISLAND (1pt win – 8/1 bet365)
PARTY ISLAND’s ideal conditions are a trip of 1m2f or further on Lingfield’s Polytrack and a relatively recent outing (within the past six weeks). When these two coincide, his record reads for a profit of to a £1 level stake at SP. In Class 5 or lower company only, his record becomes 1111 (4-4). The last time he ran over course and distance in Class 5 level after a recent outing he romped home by five lengths at 13-2 (albeit back in 2022) but Denis Coakley’s eight-year-old is worth a punt off a mark of 67 (his three Polytrack runs over 1m+ when rated below 69 results in wins at 16-1, 15-2 and 5-1.
6.00 Southwell – CROCKHAM HEATH (0.5pt e/w – 33/1 bet365)
CROCKHAM HEATH was well beaten at Newmarket on his racecourse debut 20 days ago but Andrew Balding has a fine record with second-time out juveniles on the all-weather who debuted on turf, scoring with 33 of the 156 qualifiers (21.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £58.68 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£87.62 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). Those who were beaten on their debut but still ran within 20 lengths the winner, as Crockham Heath did (just), were 33 from 158 for a profit of £76.68 ay SP. The strike-rate improves to 27.1% for colts and the son of Sea The Moon can be expected to take a big step forward this evening.
7.15 Newcastle – SIBYL CHARM (1.5pt win – 11/4 bet365)
Colour change SIBYL CHARM travelled well towards the far side rail in a division of the 6f Class 6 handicap at Redcar on November 4th but was persistently denied a clear run and had to settle for third place. Iain Jardine’s five-year-old is just one from 18 on turf but has a superior strike-rate on the all-weather (three wins from 23 starts) and can go two places better tonight. All 23 of those runs took place on Tapeta, with the wins coming in Class 4 company at Newcastle over 6-7f, off marks of 77, 72 and 68. She is rated just 60 tonight and runs in basement handicap level for the first time on the all-weather.
