4.02 Haydock – DIVISION (1pt win – 13/8 bet365, 11/1 generally)
William Haggas does well at Haydock with runners having their second career start, scoring with 21 of the 73 qualifiers this century (28.8%) for a profit of £38.78 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those running in Class 2 or 3 company were six from nine (+£32.40) with the beaten horses finishing third (7-1), third (15-8) and eighth. DIVISION, a runner-up at Windsor on his debut 12 days ago, should know more this time and looks a better bet than favourite Alaminos who may have been flattered by his high draw when making a winning debut at Thirsk.
4.37 Haydock – FLYING FINN (1.5pt win – 22/1 bet365, 18/1 Coral, Ladbrokes)
FLYING FINN, due to run from the best of the draw in stall 1 at Chester last Saturday, was pulled put on account of the good to firm going. Adrian Keatley’s four-year-old has form figures on actual soft or heavy going (judged by race times, not the official going) of 21118 (3-5) for a profit of £18.68 to a £1 level stake at SP, with the runner-up effort when 14-1 on her racecourse debut. The other defeat – a 22-1 eighth of 27 in the Irish Lincolnshire on his reappearance this term – was no disgrace either and with plenty of rain around it’s worth chancing that she’ll haver conditions to suit come post time at a track where she’s 1-1.
