2.45 Lingfield – PRESSURE’S ON (1pt win – 7/2 bet365)
PRESSURE’S ON could only finish eighth of 19 at Newmarket on May 4th when we last saw him but he was poorly drawn in stall 16 (non-runner adjusted) and in the circumstances the 16-1 chance did well to finish just four lengths behind the winner. The first seven finishers in that 7f handicap came from stalls 5, 2, 6, 3, 4, 1 and 8 and he was clear best of those drawn high. His two runs on Polytrack produced a 7f Chelmsford win and a 14-1 second of 12 over an inadequate 6f at Lingfield and the return to this surface will suit.
5.30 Hamilton – MOONSTONE BOY (1pt win – 4/1 with bet365)
Iain Jardine is in fine form at the moment and his MOONSTONE BOY is taken to break his turf duck in this apprentice handicap. The three-year-old was unsuited to racing alone when last of the seven runners in a Class 4 handicap at Haydock last month and the market looks to have over-reacted to that effort. He contested a Class 2 handicap at Newcastle on his penultimate start and drops down to Class 5 level this evening, his first run in this grade. The promising Shay Farmer – who had a 12-1 winner for the yard on Saturday – takes the ride and Moonstone Boy’s sole previous Hamilton run produced a close second over this evening’s trip.
