2.45 Musselburgh – GO ON ROSIE (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)
I have two tracker horses in this 5f nursery – Kitten In The Sky and GO ON ROSIE and I prefer the claims of the last-named, who is dropping down from Class 4 to Class 6 level. Nigel Tinkler’s filly did well to finish a 33-1 sixth of from a poor high draw at York last time (first six drawn 5, 1, 6, 3, 4 and 12) and her earlier 28-1 fifth to Mr Lightside has worked out exceptionally well- the winner followed up at Nottingham, the runner-up and fourth have also scored since and several others have run well in defeat. She has the widest draw in stall 1 but should get a good tow into the race and can be played late down the middle of the track.
6.10 Wolverhampton – THE PUG (0.5pt ew – 16/1 bet365)
THE PUG is no superstar, but he has a very respectable record in handicaps when returned to the track within 28 days of his latest outing, recording form figures of 321621137 (3-9) for a profit of £9.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Sylvester Kirk has been among the winners of late and, with two front-runners in opposition, I’m hoping that this sometimes-keen sort will settle just behind the early pace before being played late.
