3.15 Pontefract – VINTAGE CLARETS (1pt win – 100/30 generally)
VINTAGE CLARETS ran well at the first time of asking last year, doing best of those ridden patiently when second of 13 to Silky Wilkie in the Scottish Sprint Cup Handicap at Musselburgh. He went on to win on four occasions last term, including at Chester and Catterick the only times he raced left-handed. The Catterick win came on heavy going and, with a likely strong pace to chase this afternoon, he’s taken to make a winning reappearance on a track that should suit him.
