2.15 Ffos Las – ROAD TO WEMBLEY (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)
ROAD TO WEMBLEY was only third under Ryan Moore when 9-4 favourite at Sandown on his penultimate start but he took the inside route when it paid to race wide. He also failed to live up to market expectations at York next time, finishing sixth of eight under a 7lb claimer when a 5-1 shot. However, he did too much too soon on the front end that day, weakening two out after chasing the strong early pace. Trojan Storm, who fared best of the three prominent racers in third, won at Ascot next time despite stepping up from Class 4 to Class 3 level. Finley Marsh, on board for his four all-weather wins, returns to the saddle and he’s worth a small bet to break his turf duck.
4.50 Ffos Las – TYPEFACE (1.5pt win – 9/4 bet365)
TYPEFACE is a qualifier on the same angle that found easy Newmarket winner Beylerbebi on Saturday – namely Ian Williams-trained last time out winners, returned to the track within eight days, running in a turf handicap. The score this century stands at 31 winners from 70 bets (44.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £39.22 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected number of winners = 19.69, A/E = 1.57). The three-year-old was rated just 38 when landing a 1m classified stakes in a first-time tongue-tie here seven days ago but the clock suggests that was no fluke (he has the best last time out speed figure in today’s field according to Proform) and the extra furlong will suit on his handicap debut.

Windsor’s muddy track produced some bookmaker friendly results (33-1 and 14-1…
