2.55 Lingfield – LAURENTIA (1pt win – 5/1 bet365)
LAURENTIA was beaten here on her latest outing but didn’t see out the 1m4f trip and can be supported now cutting back to 1m2f. The eight-year-old travelled strongly and looked to be going as well an anything on turning in, trading at 2.0 in running from a Betfair SP of 11.97, but took the ‘swamp’ route on the inside rail and faded into fifth place. There are a few pace angles to set a good gallop for her and, with luck, George Rooke will switch to the centre of the track to lay down a challenge this time..
4.45 Pontefract – COOLREE (1pt win – 8/1 bet365)
At the time of writing Pontefract’s going was described as ‘good to firm (watered)’ but if the weather forecast is correct, we’ll be looking at soft or heavy ground come post time for this 1m handicap. At first glance that might seem a shade worrying for Amy Murphy’s COOLREE, as he won on good to firm going at Beverley in May, but he had plenty of deep-ground form when trained in Ireland and the son of Mondialiste should cope with whatever the weather throws at us. More interesting is his course and distance fourth on his latest outing – the time was fast (he has the best last time out speed figure scoring to Proform’s ratings) and he was probably guilty of doing too much too soon in a race set up for the closers. The prominently-ridden fifth, Visibility, was a winner when returned to Pontefract for his next run and perhaps he can follow suit.
7.45 Tramore – NOSTRA CASA (1pt – 7/1 generally)
Since joining current trainer Paul Flynn, NOSTRA CASA has form figures of 14311 (3-5) when fresh for a profit of £27.00 to a £1 level sake at SP. The veteran drops in grade after his respectable 14-1 sixth of 17 at the Curragh 44 days ago and will appreciate any rain.

Andrew Mount’s Myth Busters – Should We Expect Business As Usual When A Stable Is Taken Over By A Family Member?
Nowadays, we often see more than one name on a training licence – John & Thady Gosden for example – as a prelude to the younger member of the family taking over in their own right but will this change affect the way the yard operates, or will it be business as usual? My Proform…
