3.00 Market Rasen – DIBBLE DECKER (1.5pt win – 3/1 William Hill, 11/4 bet365)
Tom Lacey’s DIBBLE DECKER only went down by a neck in second place at Huntingdon last time to take his form figures over 2m-2m5f on right-handed tracks, outside of his seasonal debuts, to 1191112 (5-7), with the sole unplaced effort in a race worth over £50,000 to the winner which came at the end of a long hard season. He has winning form on ground ranging from good through to heavy and his stable is in good form.
4.10 Wolverhampton – MY NOBLE LORD (1pt win – 11/2 with bet365)
Michael Bell’s MY NOBLE LORD wouldn’t look an obvious contender for this 1m4f handicap, having recorded form figures of 8th of 9, 12th of 13 and 8th of 8 in three runs over 7f-1m last autumn but the gelding operation, switch to handicap company and step up in trip can help to bring about the required improvement. Since the beginning of 2010, his trainer is 28 from 133 (21.1% strike-rate) with his newly gelded handicap runners for a profit of £61.13 (expected winners = 19.34, A/E = 1.45). The two and three-year-olds were 25 from 111 (+£73.88) and Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface won’t be an issue on breeding.
