Low draws enjoyed a big advantage at Redcar’s meeting on May 28th where the winners came from stalls 4 of 11, 1 of 10, 6 of 10, 2 of 7, 1 of 10, 2 of 6 and 8 of 14. STORMY PEARL was sent off at just 7-1 despite being stuck out wide in stall 12 of 14 (non-runner adjusted) in the 6f amateur riders’ handicap but did well to finish a seven-length seventh was a worthy effort in the circumstances. The cut back to 5f on fast ground is a slight worry but there’s every chance they’ll go too fast in this amateur riders’ contest and she’s worth a bet.
9.00 Hamilton – JAMINOZ (1pt win – 10/1 bet365)
They went hard early in the 1m3f handicap won by Letsbefrank here last Sunday and, even though the pace slowed at halfway, the race was set up for the closers. The 22-1 winner (‘held up in rear’) scored with something in hand from Real Terms (‘towards rear’), Tafsir (‘midfield’) and Ludo’s Landing (‘midfield, outpaced 2f out’) with sixth-placed JAMINOZ (‘prominent, led over 2f out’) catching the eye. He’s back in trip to an extended 1m today and would prefer more cut in the ground but he earned a big speed figure for his latest effort, the form has been franked by the fourth-placed runner who won well-backed at Beverley last Saturday and he drops down the Class 6 level tonight.
