There’s a trio of tips for Andrew Mount on Wednesday 15th October, as he heads to Nottingham and Kempton Park for his best bets of the day…

5.15 Nottingham – YAZAMAN (0.5pt e/w – 11/1 bet365, 10/1 generally) & MRS TRUMP (0.5pt e/w 12-1 Paddy Power, BetVictor, 11-1 generally)
YAZAMAN beat only one home in a 6f handicap at Newcastle on his latest assignment but both the return to turf and cut back to the minimum trip are in his favour and I’m expecting a vastly improved effort this afternoon. Paul Midgley’s seven-year-old has form figures at today’s venue of 3132 (1-4), improving to 312 (1-3) at today’s trip, with the latest defeat by a head when just failing to reel in all-the-way winning favourite Toptime. His trainer has a fine recent record in low-grade (Class 4-6) Nottingham handicaps with his runners that have had raced within the past eight weeks, scoring with 18 of the 69 qualifiers (26.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £41.48 to a £1 level stake at SP.
MRS TRUMP also qualifies on the Paul Midgley/Nottingham handicaps system and she’s the chosen mount of Yazaman’s regular rider Mark Winn. The daughter of James Garfield has form figures at this venue of 2251 (1-4) and did well to finish in mid-division at Ripon last time where she was one of only three runners to race far side from their poor low draws. The cut back to 5f is of some concern but she’s started at 3-1f, 2-1f, 100-30 and 2-1f in her four course starts and had the potential to shorten markedly in price.
8.10 Kempton – BUXTED TOO (1pt e/w – 7/1 bet365, 13/2 generally with the other firms paying four places)
BUXTED TOO, best late off a strong pace, has a solid record on Polytrack, landing six of his 22 starts (+£19.66 to a £1 level stake at SP). In fields of 12 or more runners his record on Polytrack reads 30114010 (3-8), improving to 311410 (3-6) when drawn in a single-figure stall. He failed to settle when beating only one home at Haydock last time and the return to this venue and application of a first-time visor should result in a better effort. Ian Williams’ seven-year-old is 7lb lower than for February’s course and distance win and he should have the race run to suit.
