3.55 Catterick – MONSIEUR KODI (1pt win – 6/1 bet365)
MONSISUR KODI caught the eye in the Ayr Bronze Cup, doing second best of the disadvantaged near side group when finishing 12th of 24 overall. Officially, that was a Class 2 handicap but with the top weight rated 79 it was effectively a 0-80 Class 4 contest. Richard Fahey’s five-year-old did land a Class 2 contest last year but that was the consolation race for the Stewards’ Cup and it was effectively a Class 3 at best. His full handicap record in Class 4 or lower company on turf stands at 6152111134 (5-10) for a profit of £25.50 to a £1 level stake at SP and the soft ground will suit.

6.20 Kempton – TAHITIAN PRINCE (1pt ew – 25/1 bet365)
TAHITIAN PRINCE caught the eye when seventh of 11 to Paradias at Goodwood on his penultimate start, blowing the start and doing well to finish with five lengths of the winner after challenging wide on the slowest part of the track. George Baker’s seven-year-old finished an 18-1 last of nine at Epsom on his next start but never left the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail on a day that the winners were coming down the centre. He’s trying a new trip tonight (1m3f) but this four-time Polytrack winner (three of them here at Kempton) will appreciate the return to this surface and the big field/likely strong gallop are other positives.
6.55 Kempton – KALAMUNDA (1.5pt win – 6/1 bet365)
KALAMUNDA made it three from three on the all-weather when we bet here at Southwell last month (SP 9-2) and she followed up when very heavily backed at Lingfield next time, despite the track not being ideal for her. She won her sole start here at Kempton by 2.75 lengths and I’m not hugely worried by her wide draw in stall 14 of 14 as there’s plenty of pace on for this hold-up performer and she looks most progressive.
