4.20 Brighton – DESTINADO (1pt win – 13-2 bet365, William Hill)
DESTINADO needs a big field/strong pace scenario and, since joining current trainer James Owne, he’s won nine of his 25 races in fields of ten or more runners (+£54.00 to a £1 level stake at SP). In Class 6 company only, the score is six from nine. He drops to this level for this first time since bolting up at 10-1 on Lingfield’s Polytrack on November 19th last year and there looks to be enough early pace on offer in this 1m2f contest.
5.37 Carlisle – WISH THIS (0.5pt e/w – 18-1 bet365, William Hill, 16-1 generally)
WISH THIS showed ability in a winless seven-race campaign in Ireland and though only eighth of 11 in a 7f handicap at Ayr on his British debut in early July, he fared third best of the prominent racers when those ridden patiently were strongly favoured. The two prominent racers who beat him both won at the next time of asking and his subsequent 33-1 fourth of ten at Newcastle was a useful effort as he did best of those to come from off the pace. He was beaten by just over seven lengths that day but the 12-length seventh Native Honey, who was also ridden patiently, won next time out, and the step up to 1m1f could suit.
6.00 Windsor – YORKSHIRE LADY (0.5pt e/w – 22-1 bet365, William Hill, 20-1 generally)
YORKSHIRE LADY tends to come good at this time of year and has form figures in September of 111 (3-3). Mick & David Easterby’s seven-year-old also seems to win fourth or fifth time out every season and this will be her fifth outing of the current campaign. She looked on her way back when a close-up 9-1 fourth of eight over 1m2f at Ayr on August 11th. It’s interesting to see her Yorkshire-based yard send her so far south (she’s won three of her nine starts when travelling more than 200 miles to the races) and she’s worth chancing to small stakes.
