Two horse racing fixtures take place in the UK on Sunday 29 March, with the National Hunt action coming from Ascot, whilst there’s flat racing at Ascot. We preview both fixtures and pick out our best bets of the day to make up the Sunday GG Lucky 15.
Ascot Racing Tips (Sunday 29 March 2026)
It’s a 1.55pm start at Ascot for a seven-race card. We pick out two selections across the afternoon action for our Lucky 15..
3.05 Ascot – Senator (1pt win – 11/2)
Placed in his first two starts on British soil, Jamie Snowden’s Senator finally broke his duck at the third time of asking with a win at Market Rasen. A comfortable one-length winner that day, the four-year-old will step into handicap company for the first time and will be lightly weighted in the 3.05pm contest. Running off a mark of 112 he will need to improve, now taking on classier rivals, but Snowden’s charge is sure to improve again and can down the top-weighted Munsif, who is an intriguing runner.
4.50 Ascot – Gabbys Cross (1pt win – )
Copperhead and Gabbys Cross fought out the finish in a Newbury veterans contest a month ago. The former prevailed narrowly, but the tables can be turned in the 4.50pm at Ascot. Only four line up in this veterans event, but these two can fight it out once again. Copperhead has often struggled for consistency of late, so is not guaranteed to follow that Newbury run up. Gabbys Cross is a lot more consistent, and with Sean Bowen in the saddle can deliver the good here for Nick Scholfield.
Doncaster Racing Tips (Sunday 29 March 2026)
Eight races make up Doncaster’s Sunday afternoon card. We pick out two selections from the competitive day’s racing on Town Moor.
3.30 Doncaster – Epictetus (1pt win – 7/1)
A former Group 3 winner at Goodwood, Epictetus has failed to reach those heights in recent seasons for Jamie Osborne. However, the former John & Thady Gosden-trained raider can return to winning ways in the 3.30pm at Doncaster. Lining up off a mark of 80, which is over 20lbs lower than his highest rating, the six-year-old showed signs last time out when second at Chelmsford. It won’t need too much improvement from him to land this prize, if he can kick on for a return to turf.
4.05 Doncaster – Port Of London (1pt win – 11/4)
Two wins from five starts, Port Of London put in a career best back in December when storming to victory at Lingfield off a mark of 82. The John & Thady Gosden-trained raider will now look to defy a 6lbs rise and is well fancied to land victory in the 4.05pm at Doncaster. He stayed on in impressive fashion during that Lingfield win to suggest there’s a lot more to come. This is tougher, but he has the potential to kick on again. Plenty line up with a chance, but Port Of London looks the stand out.
