Ascot Tips - Through The Card Picks For Friday 22nd November On Day 1 Of CopyBet November Racing Weekend

Ascot Tips - Through The Card Picks For Friday 22nd November On Day 1 Of CopyBet November Racing Weekend

It’s day one of the CopyBet November Racing Weekend at Ascot on Friday 22nd November and there’s a competitive-looking seven race card. Our in-house tipster Steve Chambers has taken a look through the form and picks out a selection in each race.

12.20pm Ascot – Safer Gambling Week ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle

Third behind the classy duo of Sir Gino and Burdett Road in a Triumph Hurdle trial at Cheltenham back in January, MILAN TINO then finished a creditable sixth in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival. Still yet to taste success over timber, the four-year-old has been seen disappointing in France on his last two starts, but a return to British soil can see him break his duck on Friday.

Best Odds Guaranteed – All Day, Every Day On UK & Irish Horse Racing

#AD 18+ Bet on any UK or Irish horse race by selecting either an Early Price or a Show Price. When the race begins, the official Starting Price (SP) is set—if this SP is higher than the odds you took, your bet is automatically paid out at the better price. Early Price refers to odds offered well before the race, while Show Price (or Board Price) is available shortly before the start, just ahead of the official SP being confirmed. Full T&Cs apply.

12:55pm Ascot – CopyBet Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

A Grade 2 winning novice hurdling last season, GIDLEIGH PARK was a leading fancy for the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle, but Harry Fry’s classy stayer could only finish sixth in March. Now set for a switch to the novice chasing ranks, the six-year-old makes his debut over fences and looks tough to beat. The trip is a bit on the short side, so Bad will look to show his superior speed, but Gidleigh Park could be a decent one to watch this season over fences with the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase the likely destination in the spring.

1:30pm Ascot – Troy Asset Management ‘Introductory’ Hurdle

Unbeaten in his two starts under Rules, WADE OUT will look to maintain his 100% record when he lines up in a fascinating 1:30pm contest. A comfortable one-and-a-half length winner at Uttoxeter last time out, Olly Murphy’s charge will need to build on that effort against a higher rank of opposition here, but he shaped like there’s a lot more to come over timber and is the value play.

2:05pm Ascot – CopyBet Handicap Chase

With five wins in 11 chase starts, Lucinda Russell’s CORRIGEEN ROCK has a fine record over the big obstacles and he could well make it six from 12 on Friday in a competitive-looking event at 2:05pm. He will have the burden of top weight, but he was a fine winner off a mark of 139 back in February when he was last seen and he could still be ahead of the handicapper and can defy a mark of 144 for this event.

2:40pm Ascot – LK Bennett Autumn Collection Handicap Hurdle

Second in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham off a mark of 131 back in 2022, GIN COCO has failed to kick on from that fine effort, but off a figure of 135 on Friday he looks capable of landing the trappy 2:40pm contest. Narrowly beaten at Chepstow last month on his first run of the season, Harry Fry’s eight-year-old should improve for that outing and while he’s 2lbs higher he can deal with that rise and land this contest with aplomb.

3:15pm Ascot – CopyBet UK Handicap Chase

It took four runs over hurdles for Nicky Henderson’s IDEAL DES BORDES to get his first win over obstacles, but the Seven Barrows inmate could turn into a much better chaser and off a mark of 118 he looks capable of landing the 3:15pm race. A point winner, he may not be the shining beacon of the Henderson yard, but sent straight into handicap company he looks to have the potential of going much higher than his current mark and looks a solid bet.

3:50pm Ascot – Not Forgotten Open NH Flat Race

Alan King’s Blues Singer is already a winner in a bumper, so will have to give weight away to all his rivals here in what could be a decent contest to end the day. Dan Skelton’s QUAVISTE is an interesting one as the yard have a decent record in this sort of race and this half-sister to Colonel Mustard could be a smart recruit. The market is sure to tell us plenty, but Quaviste is certainly one to watch in the finale.
