Looking to head into the week on a winning note, our GG Lucky 15 tips for Friday 19 December focus on the action at Ascot and Uttoxeter, as we look to find four winners at that brace of National Hunt fixtures.
With the Long Walk Hurdle being the feature at Ascot tomorrow, there’s still some quality action on Friday, whilst Uttoxeter host some competitive jumps events on a cracking day’s racing.
Ascot Racing Tips (Friday 19 December 2025)
Ascot kick off their six-race card at 12.40pm with three hurdle races, two chases and a National Hunt Flat race. Check out our best bets on the card here.
1.50 Ascot – Excelero (1pt win – 9/4)
Fourth behind the smart pairing of Wade Out and Wendigo at Worcester back in October, Excelero then cruised to an impressive nine-length win at Warwick on his last start, and the Jane Williams-trained raider can kick on again and taste more success in the 1.50pm at Ascot. He will face four quality rivals in this event, with Bluey likely to be the biggest danger, but Emma Lavelle’s mare will have to give weight away to Excelero that could prove crucial in the closing stages. Excelero will have to defy a career-high mark of 128 in this contest, but he jumped well last time out at Warwick and he could just prove to be on a rapid incline and can land victory.
3.00 Newbury – Jax Junior (1pt win – 11/4)
A very smart novice hurdler, Jax Junior could turn into an even better chaser and having been no match for the classy Lump Sum on his chasing debut he then kicked on and trounced Jeriko Du Reponet at Kempton last month. That form has failed to be franked with Jeriko Du Reponet struggling earlier this week, but Lucy Wadham’s Jax Junior was much the best that day and shaped like he could be a graded chaser. This Grade 2 Noel Novices’ Chase has attracted some smart emerging novices with No Questions Asked and Steel Ally both holding some decent form on their CV, but Jax Junior does look to be the one to back in an intriguing renewal.
Uttoxeter Racing Tips (Friday 19 December 2025)
There’s any early start at Uttoxeter with their jumping card beginning at 11.43am and going through until 3.08pm with seven races. We have two selections for the action at the Staffordshire track.
11.43 Uttoxeter – Largy Force (1pt win – 7/2)
Winless for Warren Greatrex, Largy Force had run some fine races in defeat and has placed on countless occasions for that yard. He’s since been switched to Olly Murphy and showed more promise when second at Warwick on his first start for the yard. Given a 1lb rise for that run, he will take his chance off 104 for the 11.43am opener at Uttoxeter, but off bottom weight has to be considered. Sean Bowen will take the ride, so that’s a huge positive, and if he can continue to improve for Murphy’s development of the seven-year-old then he can finally break his maiden tag.
1.28 Uttoxeter – Delgany Deadline (1pt win -7/1)
Second at Ffos Las at the end of last season, Dan Skelton’s Delgany Deadline made a pleasing return to the track when fourth at Chepstow over hurdles in November, and he will be looking to build on that effort in the 1.28pm at Uttoxeter. Switching to fences and lining up off the same mark of 82, the five-year-old is also stepping up significantly in trip and it could prove that three miles is his optimum distance. That Ffos Las run came over a trip just shy of three miles, so he’s going to have no issues with the step up in trop, so if he can take to the chasing sphere then he can land this prize with aplomb.
