A bumper Saturday of racing is in store at Ascot. The Group 1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes is only the cherry on top of a superb card, with further Group races and the International Handicap to enjoy.

Ascot Racing Tips (Saturday 25 July)
Eight races go to post on Ascot’s Saturday card. We book-end the meeting with our two tips at Ascot, with selections in the second and final contests.
1.45 Ascot – Harlequin Sky (1pt e/w – 14/1)
Dark Issue is fourth in what is already proving a strong running of the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. Of more interest though is Harlequin Sky, who was also placed in a juvenile contest at the royal meeting. Jane Chapple-Hyam’s charge was third at 125/1 in the Windsor Castle Stakes two days previously. That race has not worked out as strongly, but she was last and awkward for the majority, only to finish with a wet sail when in the clear. It was a marked improvement on her debut, with her second run on the all-weather easily discounted. This course and distance suited her well off a strong pace. Christophe Soumillon is a fascinating jockey booking and one that suggests the daughter of Dubawi Legend is expected to contend strongly.
5.20 Ascot – Getreadytorumble (1pt e/w – 7/1)
Dropping back into handicaps, Getreadytorumble may prove too classy off top-weight in the finale. The four-year-old was a close third in Listed company over this track and trip, then again on reappearance at Naas. That latter form worked out very well at Royal Ascot, though the selection was drawn on the wrong side of the track in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes won by Naas conqueror Mission Central. Getreadytorumble finished mid-division in group company either side of Ascot, but this track should suit better. Without a draw bias here, this drop in class can prove a wise move by connections.
York Racing Tips (Saturday 25 July)
Our pair of lucky 15 tips at York include a course specialist in the Group 2 York Stakes.
2.00 York – Air Force One (1pt e/w – 17/2)
Having regularly finished strongly over 5f, Air Force One finally gets a chance over 6f. His only run over the distance came on debut, since when he has remained at 5f-5½f. He was victorious on this card a year ago in the jump jockeys’ Nunthorpe at the minimum distance, then again at Beverley to begin this campaign. Geoff Oldroyd’s sprinter is generally consistent, but has proven too slowly away over the Kanvesmire’s 5f twice this term. He is well worth a go now over 6f and remains only 2lb above his last winning mark. If covered up well from a great draw in stall 5, P J McDonald can deliver him to victory.
2.35 York – Pride Of Arras (1pt e/w – 11/2)
Defending champion Royal Champion and Dante winner Item head the betting, but both could be vulnerable here. The former concedes a 5lb Group 1 penalty all-round, while the latter’s Classic trial win is unproven. Consequently, Pride Of Arras, another former Dante winner, is worth chancing. Ralph Beckett’s charge has an unusual career record, having won both races at York in good style so far. They came in the 2025 Dante and Great Voltigeur Stakes, in both of which he beat good fields. Since his debut though, he has failed to fire in three of his other four races, twice finishing last. His Knavesmire record is too strong to ignore though and the New Bay gelding may once again prove a different proposition here.
