A bumper field of 25 horses will assemble at the 6f start for the 2026 Ayr Gold Cup, which takes place at 3.40pm on Saturday 19th September. 2026 Ayr Gold Cup Runners

A winner of York’s Sprint Trophy Handicap, Binhareer then returned with a fine second placed finish in another York contest, where he finished second. Sixth in the Wokingham, he was last seen finishing down the field in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes. Now reverting back to handicap company, he’s one that has to be respected at the head of the betting.

Just touched off at York by Sondad, Far Above Dream is a handicapper on the upgrade and is looking to go one better here, whilst Dance In The Storm was just behind Far Above Dream in fourth at York and will be attempting to switch that form around here.

Ollie Sangster’s Tuco Salamanca was last seen rocketing to victory in the Shergar Cup Dash and will be aiming to defy a notable rise on Saturday. Twilight Calls has been a revelation of late, as he’s recaptured his best form, and he’s snuck in at the bottom of the weights and is the mount of Saffie Osborne, who bounded to St Leger glory last weekend.

Plenty line up with a huge chance of playing a starring role and emulating Run Boy Run, who landed victory in this race 12 months ago and goes for gold again.
