Ayr Racing Tips (Thursday 29 January 2026)
It’s a 1.13pm start for Ayr’s National Hunt fixture on Thursday, as seven races take place. We pick out two selections for the Scottish fixture.
1.43 Ayr – Saracen Beau (1pt win – 9/4)
Last seen finishing second at Bangor for Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore, Saracen Beau has since switched back to the year of Nicky Richards, and the seven-year-old can return to winning ways in the 1.43pm contest. Previously trained by Richards before a switch of yard to the Russell & Scudamore team, Saracen Beau has been a real model of consistency throughout his career and whilst he will have the burden of top weight in this event he should prove to be a cut above his rivals.
3.13 Ayr – Carismatic Soldier (1pt win – 4/1)
Olly Murphy’s Carismatic Soldier was disappointing last time out when last of five at Uttoxeter, but he shaped with more promise two starts ago when third at Wetherby, and a return to that sort of form here can see him win the 3.13pm contest. His jumping failed him on his last start, so the Murphy team will need to improve on that, but with cheekpieces hopefully helping him on his latest run then he can return to winning ways with Sean Bowen on board.
Lingfield Racing Tips (Thursday 29 January 2026)
It’s an afternoon fixture for Lingfield on the all-weather on Thursday, with their seven races getting under way at 1.20pm. We have a brace of selections during the card to complete the Lucky 15.
1.50 Lingfield – Sovereign Wealth (1pt win – 6/4)
George Boughey’s Sovereign Wealth may have beaten a host of inferior rivals when sent off a short-priced favourite at Wolverhampton last time out, but that could’ve been the confidence-boosting win the son of Frankel needed and he can follow up in the 1.50pm at Lingfield. He switches to handicap company having routed a novice stakes field, and a mark of 77 looks more than fair, if he can replicate his dominant Wolves win. The likes of Space Invasion and Maskatto will be notable dangers, but Rossa Ryan can steer the Boughey three-year-old to the win.
2.50 Lingfield – Royal Jet (1pt win – 6/4)
Royal Jet may not be a world beater, but Tony Carroll’s charge has been in decent form of late notching up two wins from his last three starts at Lingfield and Southwell. A winner back in December at Thursday’s track of Lingfield, the Exceed And Excel gelding will have to give weight away to all his rivals in the classified stakes at 2.50pm, but plenty of his rivals line up in poor form and he could well just land the prize and continue his excellent run of positive results.
