Carlisle Racing Tips (Sunday 22 March 2026)

There are seven races at Carlisle on Sunday, with some competitive Series Final races in the middle of the card. We have three tips across those finals.

3.17 Carlisle – Spadestep (1pt win – 9/2)

Plenty line up in the Mark Nield Wealth Management Go North One Man Series Final Handicap Chase at 3.15pm in the form of their life. The likes of Marty Mcfly, Coup De Coeur and Dance Thief all claimed victory last time out and warrant respect. One that didn’t get his head in front was Spadestep. The Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore-trained raider has racked up six seconds and one win in his seven career starts. A real consistent performer, he’s been knocking on the door of late, but has just failed to get his head in front. Whilst the aforementioned triumvirate have all been rocketing up the ratings, Spadestep remains on a workable mark of 117 and he has to be a huge contender in this contest off that figure.

3.52 Carlisle – Forged Well (1pt win – 11/1)

An impressive winner over fences back in December at Musselburgh, Forged Well has failed to build on that effort for Martin Todhunter. He unseated on his next start, whilst he was well beaten over hurdles on his last outing. Returning to fences for the 3.52pm at Carlisle, he’s one that has to be considered, if he can recapture that Musselburgh form. He’s 6lbs higher than that win, so has to defy a career high mark of 116. However, if he can iron out his jumping issues then he looks more than capable of landing a significant blow in this competitive contest.

4.27 Carlisle – Cerendipity (1pt win – 17/2)

Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith’s Cerendipity has struggled for any sort of form of late, but he’s been given a huge chance by the handicapper for Sunday’s 4.27pm event. Dropped 3lbs for a fifth place finish at Haydock last time out, he’s now 5lbs lower than his last winning mark. That only came a year ago at Newcastle, so if he can recapture that sort of form then he has to be respected off 117. The better ground should aid his chance in another cracking betting heat, and he could be some eye-catching each-way value.

Exeter Racing Tips (Sunday 22 March 2026)

Only six races feature on Exeter’s National Hunt card, with a 2.32pm start. Our best bet on the card lines up in a five-runner event at 3.37pm.

3.37 Exeter – Fortunefavorsdbold (1pt win -)

With 10 top-3 finishes in her 19 chase starts, Fortunefavorsdbold is always good value over the larger obstacles. Second last time out, the Christian Williams-trained mare can go one better in the 3.37pm at Exeter. She’s been upped 2lbs for that recent runner-up spot at Leicester, but she pulled 20 lengths clear of the second that day, so the form can be given a notable boost. Her rivals have struggled for consistency in recent times, so it’s wise to stick with the Williams contender.

15:37 Barry Johnson Memorial Mares’ Handicap Chase (Queen Boudicca Mares’ Chase Series Qualifier)
