Carlisle Racing Tips (Tuesday 11 August 2026)
It’s a six-race card at Carlisle, with the action getting under way at 2.45pm. Andrew’s picks run in the opener and the 3.45pm event.
2.45 Carlisle – Bay Dream Believer (1.5pt win – 100/30 bet365, 3/1 generally)
Mark Walford’s mare Bay Dream Believer tends to come good in high summer (June to August) and the seven-year-old returned to form with an 18-1 victory under Keith McHugh in a six-runner mile handicap at Nottingham on July 18th. Her record in the peak summer season now stands at seven wins from 22 runs for a profit of £32.00 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£40.22 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 3.41, A/E = 2.06) including form figures in the month of August of 45113111 (5-8). The pace set-up doesn’t look ideal on paper – she needs a strong pace but is not certain to get it – but we’re dealing with an apprentice handicap here and the inexperienced jockeys sometimes go too hard in the early stages.
3.45 Carlisle – Excessive (1pt win – 14/1 bet365, 12/1 generally)
My tracker note for Excessive simply says “handicap job?” and I’m expecting improvement from Tim Easterby’s juvenile now that he makes nis nursery debut in first-time cheekpieces. The some of Cotai Glory made a very encouraging debut over C&D in early June, keeping on well to finish a best-of-the-closers 66-1 fourth of eight in novice company. The winner, runner-up and third from that race are now rated 73, 76 and 87, suggesting that his opening handicap mark of 63 could be on the generous side. He looks to have been campaigned with handicaps in mind since that run, finishing a 16-1 fifth of six at Pontefract and a 20-1 ninth of 12 at Southwell.
Nottingham Racing Tips (Tuesday 11 August 2026)
There’s another six races taking place at Nottingham, with a 5.45pm start. However, you have to wait for the final race on the card at 8.15pm for Andrew’s best bet.
8.15 Nottingham – Come On Eibhlin (1pt win – 11/1 bet365, 10/1 generally)
Come On Eibhlin wouldn’t be an obvious bet for this 6f fillies’ handicap but there are good reasons for expecting Dylan Cunha’s three-year-old to out-run her odds. The daughter of Space Blues has won just once from 13 starts but she caught the eye when a close-up fourth in a 1m fillies’ handicap against the ‘dead’ rail at Newmarket on June 25th and the right-handed track was no help over an extended mile at Beverley next time where she hung to her left. The step up to 1m2f was a strange move at Sandown latest where she trailed home a 22-length ninth of ten (12-1) and, while the cut back to sprinting looks a bold move on paper, she did win over this trip at Windsor last summer, and she’s worth chancing.
