Carlisle Racing Tips (Wednesday 9 September 2026)
It’s a 2.12pm start at Carlisle on Wednesday for their seven-race card. Andrew’s selection runs in the opening contest, as he looks to hit the ground running.
2.12 Carlisle – Orfilia (1pt e/w – 7/2 bet365)
The stalls were in the centre for the straight-course (5f-1m) races at Redcar’s meeting on August 22nd, and they elected to head far side in the opening 6f restricted novice, favouring low draws (first three drawn 4, 5 and 2 of 12). David O’Meara’s Orfilia (stall 12) did well to finish a 16-1 fourth after racing down the centre of the track and can take a step forward this afternoon. The daughter of Too Darn Hot will appreciate the slow ground and her stall 11 draw looks handy as they’re likely to come stands’ side in the straight.
Redcar Racing Tips (Wednesday 9 September 2026)
A bumper eight-race card comes from Redcar, with a 1.21pm start. Andrew has a 1pt win selection in the 4.24pm race.
4.24 Redcar – Night Emperor (1pt win – 5/1 bet365)
The stands’ side rail was left unexplored until the last race at the August 22nd Redcar meeting mentioned above- a 6f Class 6 handicap – which saw Hurstwood (stall 16 of 16 once adjusted for the non-runners) lead home runners drawn 14, 15 and 2. Fourth-placed Night Emperor (stall 2) was the ‘outlier’, beating the next finisher on the far side by almost three lengths. Tina Jackon’s four-year-old, sent off as the 7-2 favourite, is drawn in stall 16 of 17 today can reverse the form with the winner, assuming the bias is the same this time. Four of the beaten horses from that course and distance contest have run since with two winning – Ellie’s De Vega (3-1) and Rinky Tinky Tinky (11-1) – and Night Emperor beat that pair by three and nine lengths respectively. He was also 14 lengths ahead of 12th-palced Lope Y Linda who finished a 12-1 second at Southwell next time.
