Andrew Mount focuses on the flat racing at Catterick and Leicester on Tuesday 8th September, as he has a trio of tips for the day’s racing. Check out his best bets for the day here…
Catterick Racing Tips (Tuesday 8 September 2026)
Eight races make up Catterick’s card on Tuesday, but Andrew focuses his attentions on the 3.36pm race. He has a brace of each-way picks for what looks a competitive event.
3.36 Catterick – Eldeyaar (1pt e/w – 8/1 bet365) & Dream Deal (0.5pt e/w – 5/1 bet365)
Eldeyaar has a strong seasonal pattern to his form, recording form figures in September of 6111134123 (5-10) for a profit of £28.83 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£39.50 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 1.48, A/E = 3.37). In other months his record stands at just two wins from 58 starts. Antony Brittain’s seven-year-old was a bet for this column when a 14-1 half-length second at Wolverhampton on his first September outing last year and an each-way approach is again advised. His yard has his hit form at the right time, sending out two recent winners including an 80-1 shot at Newcastle on Saturday.
Tim Easterby’s courser expert Dream Deal is another who often runs well at this time of year, recording form figures at this favourite venue in the August/September period of 3130131 (3-7) for a profit of £6.88 at SP. He’s worth a saver.
Leicester Racing Tips (Tuesday 8 September 2026)
It’s a 1.12pm start at Leicester, with another eight races. However, you have to wait until the 4.32pm contest for Andrew’s best bet on the card.
4.32 Leicester – Spirit Of Athene (1pt win – 7/1 bet365)
Spirit Of Athene recorded a fast time for the grade when landing a 1m2f Class 5 fillies’ handicap by a neck from Ammoony at Sandown in late July, with the pair pulling three lengths clear of the third. Ed Walker’s three-year-old came from well in rear under Ashley Lewis and survived a stumble three out (clipped heels). Her only other handicap run on turf produced a narrow second at Salisbury where she couldn’t quite reel-in the all-the-way winner (pair clear) and she can be forgiven her subsequent Lingfield Polytrack flop as she raced on the inside rail in stall 1 and didn’t face the kickback. The winner/-runner up challenged wide that day and she’s worth another chance now back on turf. Proform’s speed figures have her miles clear of her field on last time out turf ratings and, while her stalking style isn’t always ideal for this course and distance, there should be sufficient pace on.
