Chelmsford Racing Tips (Friday 2 January 2026)
Six races take place at Chelmsford, with the action getting under way at 12.42pm, but Andrew’s best bet on the card runs in the finale at 3.42pm.
3.42 Chelmsford – Time Tested (1pt win – 9/4 generally)
Time Tested has been off the track for 64 days since his course and distance success in late October, but the break should be viewed positively, as his record in handicap/classified company when rested for at least 50 days stands at 11151 (4-5) with the defeat when ridden by an inexperienced 7lb claimer. Michael Bell’s five-year-old has a good record on the all-weather when ridden by hector Crouch, recording form figures of 11411 (4-5), improving to 1111 (4-4) on Polytrack. He clocked a fast time for his latest success and can be backed to follow up from a handy draw in stall 2.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Friday 2 January 2026)
A bumper nine-race card is on offer at Wolverhampton between 4.30pm and 8.30pm, with Andrew’s 1.5pt selection running in the 8.00pm contest.
8.00 Wolverhampton – Moonlight Bomb (1.5pt win – 2/1 bet365, 15/8 generally)
Moonlight Bomb was backed into 11-4 favouritism at Southwell in late November on his debut for Ed Dunlop but patient tactics over an inadequate 7f trip were no help and he had to settle for sixth place, doing second best of the closers. The four-year-old appreciated the step up to 9.4f at Wolverhampton next time where he kept on well from off the pace to score narrowly from Mr Nugget, who went one better at Southwell shortly afterwards. The time was fast for the grade, and he should get a reasonable pace to chase courtesy of Zed Candy Boy and Hawaiian King.
